This packet arose from Mary Snyder's desire to have such a resource offered her when she first found a Friends' meeting. The intention is to orient the newcomer to the foundations of Quakerism. This is a collection of Biblical quotes important to early Friends and quotes from prominent Quakers. Quotations focus on such topics as Universalism, Experience of the Divine, Unprogrammed Worhsip, the Testimonies, Testing Leadings, and Prayer. Snyder suggests reading through these quotations slowly as a family or in a newcomers `covenant' group and reflecting worshipfully on the content. An excellent resource for introducing new attenders and re-acquainting seasoned Friends.
