13 chapters full of games, stories, activities, take-home pages and more!!!
An amazing resource for teachers, parents and kids.
It covers a great deal and offers much for students of different age groups. I am particularly impressed with the way in which it walks the children through understanding the way in which nature works.
- from the review by Teri Pigeau, a pastor from Ontario, Canada for www.eco-justice.org
Teaching from Earthcare for Children is as much an education for the teacher as the student. At interfaith events, I have been pleasantly surprised to find how many non-Quaker congregations use Earthcare for Children in Sunday School lessons.
- Eric Sabelman, PhD, Polo Alto Friends Meeting
Earthcare for Children is a beautifully presented curriculum-flexible, yet structured enough to make it easy for anyone to present rich lessons. The activities, perfect for small groups, are engaging, hands-on, and movement-oriented, providing a welcome opportunity for children to stretch themselves both physically and mentally.
- Kathryn Erskine, author of Mockingbird and Quaking
First Day School Teacher, Charlottesville Friends Meeting
A group of Rwandan Christians started a small NGO called CEAR (Christian Environmental Action in Rwanda) to integrate environmental care and stewardship into churches and schools. Most material is written from a western perspective-how to reduce, reuse, recycle etc.. using plenty of resources - entirely inappropriate for Africa! Much of your approach works here. I want to credit you as one of my sources of ideas and inspiration.
