Henry Works
BY D B JOHNSON
Brief Description:
This is the fourth Henry book by D.B. Johnson. Henry's neighbors in the town of Concord are mystified over how Henry apparently fritters his time. They don't seem to notice how much he really does to help water dry wildflowers, deliver items from one friend to another, keep crossing stones in the streams, and warn neighbors of nearby foxes or approaching rain. Yet when they call to him, his answer is the same: "I'm on my way to work," and when he gets back to his cabin, he takes out his journal and writes. Henry is a friendly, thoughtful black bear who looks and sounds rather like Henry David Thoreau.
