What's NewFrom the latest New Books NewsletterDue to go out on Saturday 11th Having trouble finding a book? Searching by name or title? The brown “search” link is in the upper left corner, under the blue FGC logo. It leads to two search options (Google-based and our own). If you don’t find the book you are looking for, try using fewer words. It is often most effective when using just one or two words. Searching by category? The gray “browsing” box in the left hand column includes a “category” link. Click it and you will get a drop down menu of categories. Click on any one of them, and you will get another drop down menu of subcategories, as well as a display of two or three featured titles in that category. When you click on the subcategory, you will get a full list of our stock in that particular subcategory. The gray “browsing box” in the left column also lets you go through book titles alphabetically. It does not work as well in searching for authors. Only authors with multiple titles are included, and if books are published under different variations of the author’s name, the list may not be complete. We recommend using the “search” link when looking for a particular author. We regret that our search functions are so complicated as to need instructions. We cannot fix the problems on our current website, but are working to introduce improvements that will make searching easier. Meanwhile, please call us is you can’t find the book you want. We are open 10–4 Eastern time, Monday–Thursday: 800-966-4556. Posted by QuakerBooks on March 25, 2013 Author InterviewsThe Art of Faith: An Interview with author J. Brent Bill - a new member of the FGC Staffby Joe Paluck
We received J. Brent Bill’s newest publication, Awaken Your Senses, at QuakerBooks a few months ago and were impressed by the engaging yet simple sensory-oriented exercises within. As the book goes into a second printing to meet continuing reader demand, we jumped at the chance to interview Brent about the process behind creating this spiritual guide with co-author Beth Booram and about his own personal methods for keeping in touch with the Divine. Brent, a recorded minister in the Religious Society of Friends, lives in Mooresville, Indiana, where he is the executive vice president of the Indianapolis Center for Congregations in Indiana. He has been a local church pastor in Indiana and Ohio, as well as an adjunct professor at Earlham School of Religion in Indiana. He has written numerous books, short stories, and magazine articles.
