BY DAVID BUTLER After David Butler completed his Quaker Meeting Houses of Britain in 1999 he looked across the Irish Sea. In the course of several visits he has unearthed forgotten records and secluded sites with energy and enthusiasm. This book is illustrated with his distinctive plans and sketches, and is supplemented by an appendix which amplifies many of the uniquely Quaker aspects of these buildings. This is the only account of the history and features of about 150 meeting houses and 100 burial grounds, since Friends first came to Ireland in 1654.

An appendix is added, with essays of synthesis on various aspects of the subject such as facing benches and burial grounds." - From the introduction
