Published for his tercentenary. 3 journals of George Fox, edited by Norman Penny to mark the tercentenary of Fox's birth. The Short Journal, dictated by Fox in Lancaster prison (1663-1664), records Fox's travels and the persecutions he faced between 1648 & 1663. The Itinerary Journal, compiled by John Field, contains an account of Fox's mission work, organizational activities and family life from 1681 to his death. The Haistwell Diary, written by Edward Haistwell, records Fox's activities between 1677 and 1679, including his journey across the length of England and his voyages to Holland and Germany.

OTELIA CROMWELL SECONDHAND fair condition, fair dust jacket. A rarely see biography of Lucretia Mott. Otelia Cromwell (April 8, 1874 - April 25, 1972) was the first African-American graduate of Smith College. The college later began the tradition of canceling afternoon and evening classes in her honor every November as a venue to talk about race and diversity. Cromwell went on to become an educator, teaching in a public school in Washington D.C. She eventually earned a master's degree from Columbia University in New York City, then went to Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut and received her Ph.D in 1926. In doing, so she was the first African-American woman to receive a Yale degree.

EDITED KENNETH BOULDING SECONDHAND, great condition hardback, with poor dust jacket. Quaker Kenneth Boulding is one of the most prolific, provocative, and highly regarded economists of our time. Born in England in 1910, he received his M.A. at Oxford University and moved to the United States in 1937. Since then he has authored or coauthored over two dozen books and has taught at a number of leading universities. Currently he is affiliated with the Institute of Behavioral Science at the University of Colorado. In an early essay, "Is Economics Necessary?" Boulding argued that economics is important not merely as it relates to the marketplace but because it is a part of virtually all other human activities.
