2nd, Revised Edition
BY THE COMMITTEE ON ELDERSHIP AND OVERSIGHT OF BRITAIN YEARLY MEETING Conflict is inseparable from adventurous living. Whether it constrains or liberates depends to a large extent on how we respond to it. This book encourages Friends to seek help where needed: there are lists of resources and useful organizations. The book can be read for interest, for general information or in study groups: discussion questions and practical exercises help us grasp the thorniest issues. This book is for clerks, those responsible for eldership or oversight, and anyone called to deal with potential or actual conflict. It will enable Friends to identify the resources in their own meetings and use them to forge a living peace testimony which is not just about opposition.

The Experience Of Cleveland Friends Meeting
EDITED BY MARTY GRUNDY Many Friends Meetings have struggled with the issue of same-sex relationships. Cleveland Meeting tried to discern what God wanted our meeting to do on this issue twenty years ago. We struggled for some eight years before experiencing the miracle of coming into unity in 1994 with what felt to us to be a "third way". Not everyone agreed, and Cleveland Meeting was disowned by Ohio Yearly Meeting (Conservative). Rather than providing a narrative this book presents the multiplicity of documents-minutes from monthly, quarterly, and yearly meetings, reports of committees, and some letters-that record the struggle, in the hopes that readers may draw their own conclusions.

Quakers And The Traveling Ministry
EDITED BY MARGERY POST-ABBOTT AND PEGGY SENGER-PARSONS This book is a collection of essays and stories by many Friends across the spectrum of Quakerism who have been called to travel in the ministry. Included are reflections on struggling with the call itself and the transformation that comes from listening carefully to God's direction. Many experiences of Friends called to traditional ministry among Friends are described, as are explorations of new forms of ministry. There is a chapter on support structures for the minister as s/he undertakes his or her journey. The editors offer up this book for all those considering ministry; as a guide to moving forward and as a sourcebook of encouragement and inspiration.

A Spiritual Walk With Parkinsons
BY JIM ATWELL This second collection of columns, "Wobbling Home," is a deeply insightful meditation on his illness, his Christian faith, and his journey's end. Raised a Roman Catholic, Jim has been a Quaker for forty years. Viewing his life as a "Parkie" through the lens of Quakerism, he sees the disease as emanating from the same loving Source that gives him life -- a Source which also manipulates his body and brain at random times and in mysterious ways. He shares not only his own thoughts and reactions, but also those of his loving wife Anne and other Parkies and their spouses as well.
