Book List:Basic QuakerismCorporate Discernment
“We have no time but this present time to bear witness to the power of the Light to re-create the human heart, and thus transform our doing, our seeing, and our speaking. There is much tenderness and good will among us, but have we been baptized with fire, as well as the Holy Spirit?”
Brian Drayton, from On Living with a Concern for Gospel Ministry, 2006
Quaker Press of FGC publishes resources that nurture meetings and individual Friends. We are committed to an historical ministry as “publishers of Truth” in the experience of Friends. We work closely with other FGC programs to produce books and other resources that help to foster individual and corporate spiritual growth and public witness. Quaker history, biography, early Quaker writings, devotionals, reflective essays, fiction and memoir speak to Friends’ living ministry. Quaker Press supports leadership and community-building through resources on Quaker faith and practice, worship, clerking, and outreach. Curricula for adults and youth offer opportunities for group study of the Quaker faith and testimonies—including the life and message of Jesus as found in the Bible and guidance on how to incorporate our faith in our daily lives.

DESIGNED BY FRIENDS GENERAL CONFERENCE Text: "We are met in a great task when we meet in worship, / no less than to realize the Divine Presence / and to create an atmosphere in which that Presence / and Power can touch us into fuller life. / Once we remember this, we cannot but approach the occasion with reverent humility and the desire / that nothing on our part may hinder or disturb. / It is something holy and wonderful we are trying to / build up together-the consciousness of the Presence / with us here and the reality of communion with God."

The Journal And Selected Writings Of Sandra L. Cronk
BY SANDRA CRONK, EDITED BY MARTHA PAXSON GRUNDY, FOREWORD BY PARKER PALMER A Lasting Gift records the life and faith of Sandra (Sonnie) L. Cronk, Quaker author, teacher, and spiritual guide. A gifted storyteller, Sonnie's journals reveal a deep love of God and religion from childhood on. We find times of consolation, a clear sense of leading and knowledge of accompaniment, as well as times of questioning, resistance, darkness and doubt. She does not hesitate to critique where others (including Quakers) fall short in living and supporting one another in a God-centered life, in which she learned that "no circumstance could separate me from God." Listening, obedience, and community are major themes in the selections of published writings included here.

The Bible And Friends Testimonies
BY GWEN HALSTED AND MARY KAY REHARD "In 1998-99 at Clear Creek Friends Meeting, when the children asked to explore the Bible, we chose to weave biblical studies together with learning about our Quaker heritage. We developed this curriculum to span an entire school year..There are many ways to bring to life the values expressed in the testimonies, but we chose to find examples in biblical passages, mostly stories, to illustrate faith in God, learning to discern divine leadings, and having courage and determination to put beliefs into action." - the authors This is a downloadable .pdf version of this publication. Bible Lessons From The 2007 Fgc Gathering
BY CHRISTOPHER SAMMOND Christopher Sammond draws on the book of Esther to contrast relationships and intrigue in the Empire with Jesus' New Testament teachings about life in the Kingdom. He shows how easy it is to name the "other" and also to become "other" within the hierarchy of the "empires," large and small, which we create today; and, he calls us to live into the Kingdom, the blessed community where justice and love are intertwined. Christopher Sammond's honesty, biblical scholarship, spiritual witness, and sense of humor bring life to this study.
