Road To Greenham Common (1)

Road To Greenham Common (1)

Road To Greenham Common (1)

BY JILL LIDDINGTON

Brief Description:
The Greenham Common peace camp was a nineteen year witness against nuclear armament in Berkshire, England, founded & maintained exclusively by women. Originally established to protest the American airbase in Berkshire and the stationi ng of 96 cruise missiles there, it survived despite years of harassment, intimidation, and legal wrangling. Calling upon many little known auto-biographies and minute books, Linddington traces the story, which includes many Quakers, as far back as the women's peace societies of the 1820s.SECONDHAND COPY- a slightly shabby but readable paperback>
