Ryan And Jimmy

Ryan And Jimmy

Ryan And Jimmy

And The Well In Africa That Brought Them Together

BY HERB SHOVELLER

Brief Description:
Ryan in Ontario learns at school it costs $70 to dig a well in Uganda to provide clean water for a whole village. His parents tell him he must earn the money himself, and he starts on household chores, then the media publicize it and money rolls in. A well is dug in Agweo where a young orphan named Akana Jimmy longs for a chance to thank Ryan in person. When they finally meet, an unbreakable bond unites these boys from very different backgrounds, and a long and sometimes life-threatening journey begins.
