Damon Hucks:

Read this book (assigned by her English Teacher) with my 12 year old daughter during spring break 2008. Very interesting book. Great story line, very easy to read, but not in a simplistic sort of way. Other than having to skip over the hog-slaughter section (yuk), our whole family thoroughly enjoyed it. We'll have to search out other Lois Ruby books.
