Jay marshall:

Thanking and Blessing is a book that found me. Once I agreed to the develop the theme from a Quaker perspective, Thanking and Blessing opened a path to reflect upon the practical implications of Friends' beliefs that "there is that of God in everyone," and that "all life is potentially sacramental." Those can be lovely platitudes and easy quips, but how do we embody them?.What happens when we tend that of God within ourselves? How does the expectation that God is present in all of our encounters reshape how we engage those we meet? As spiritual practices, thanking and blessing can positively shape our dispositions while also applying firm, gentle pressure to a world that improves when we speak truth to power.
