SECONDHAND COPY. Hardback in poor condition; the cover binding is quite loose. The first in a trilogy, The Married Land is a fictitious novel about heredity and origin. It follows a married couple who return to their native homes to care for ailing relatives. Lucy Woodruff, the wife, goes back to her childhood Quaker home in Pennsylvania. The author, Charles Bell, did extensive research in his construction of these families, including taking inspiration from the journals of his own fore-bearers.
