Brief Description:
This is the audio record of Pagels' lecture to Philadelphia Yearly Meeting Friends at Arch Street Meetinghouse in May of 2005. Disc 1 features the entirety of the prepared talk in which Pagels shared her `scholar's journey,' various stages of her research into the Gnostic writings found at Nag Hammadi, and a detailed look at John and its approach to the apostle Thomas. Included are ten minutes of her replies to questions from the floor. In disc 2 Pagels responds to written questions from the audience. Also included is a downloadable .pdf file containing translations of the Gospels of Thomas and Mary.
