Transgendering Faith

Identity, Sexuality And Spirituality

EDITED BY LEANNE MCCALL-TIGERT AND MAREN TIRABASSI

Brief Description:
Transgendering Faith is a resource to help churches respond with love and care to transgender people in our society, both those within the Christian community and those who find themselves--unhappily--outside its doors. It is also a book for transgender Christians, their families, and pastoral counselors. The first section, "The Basics for Everyone," includes essays written by professionals and therapists who give readers a basic understanding of the transgender issue. Part Two--"In Our Own Words"--features stories of transgender persons from diverse denominational, age, ethnic, and racial backgrounds.

Estelle Irene Kinkade Wilson II:

I am so amazed that the Church of my ancestry has opened to me. My Family settled in Southern Indiana a few years back, Elizabeth Wilson born 1789 London England, until now. I am the last Magnolia blossom on this branch of this Wilson Maple tree. Being born Derrill Ray Wilson, now adopting the name of my Grandmother ( who was gender questioning ). Do all Friends Meetings share the same open acceptance? The above book, brought comfort to myself, I have a deep relationship with God and His Son; Jesus lover of my soul. Thank you for inclusion.
