The Secret Gospel Of Thomas
BY ELAINE PAGELS SECONDHAND COPY. Good condition with dust jacket. With the spiritual shock she felt when her infant son was diagnosed with a fatal condition, Elaine Pagels sets out again on an academic yet personal quest, through early Christian writings and archeology to find the true message of Jesus. She found it in the Gospel of Thomas in phrases like "there is a light within each person, and it lights up the whole universe. If it does not shine, there is darkness." This book carries on where her book Gnostic Gospels of 1979 left off, a book in which she studies other Gnostic texts and New Testament archeology.
