USED BOOKS

We are now selling secondhand Quaker Books. These have been kindly donated to us by Friends and Meetings who no longer need them. This means the books can be read again by fresh eyes and the money paid goes to aid the work of FGC. Often the books are out of print and no longer easily found. The books are offered as reading copies, and are not usually in pristine condition. Maybe you have unwanted Quaker Books or Pamphlets. Contact grahamg@fgcquaker.org if you would like to make a donation of them.

BY CHRISTINE TREVETT

Welcome Home Banners For Us Troops Returning From Iraq

BY CHUCK FAGER AND ANON
SECONDHAND, but as good condition as new which was not perfect, but less expensive. During the years 2004-2009, my work often took me to Camp Lejeune. During these visits I noticed many homemade banners hanging on a fence along the public highway passing the main gate. Many of these banners, made to welcome returning Marines back from combat duty, were so striking and touching that I began taking pictures of some of them. The banners were also very ephemeral: most hung there till wind and weather brought them down. These photographs are likely their only record.
